Greg Sowell: is originally from
Louisville, Kentucky, but has lived in the Hampton Roads
area for the past 28 years. He attended Eastern Kentucky
University majoring in Percussion with applied Double Bass.
Besides playing bass with Sounds of Joy, Greg is also sharing his
time between, the Virginia Beach Symphony Orchestra and his
church group called Another Day Dawning. Greg is a Graphic
Designer by trade and has worked for Sunny Day Guide for
more than 13 years. He is the proud father of two children, Chloe and Brad,
and is married to Lisa who sings alto in SOJ.

SOJam Director
and instrumental
arranger for SOJam, graduated from
Montclair State College with a degree in Music. She
recently retired from teaching music in NJ
after 35 years. She is a composer of vocal and instrumental
works for middle school and has published a musical called
"In The Middle" about the everyday life of middle school
students. (Encore Productions)
Matt Rossettini studied percussion at the Mason
School
of
Music / Rutgers University and Rowan University.
He was a member of the Sunrisers Senior Drum and Bugle
Corp. He is a lawyer in Virginia Beach. where he resides
with his wife, Jen, and his daughter, Emma.
Joe
DeBeasso
picked up the trumpet in elementary school and has not been
able to put it down since. He attended Old
Dominion University in Norfolk VA, where he studied both
instrumental and vocal music education. Joe also performs
with the Virginia Beach Symphony Chorus, the Hampton Roads
Men’s Chorus, and LV MUZIK. He is also an active alumni
brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
Hal Kiefer: After playing six years in grade school
and high school and two years in army bands, Hal put his
trombone aside for 25 years. Besides playing with SoJam, he
is a member of SATIN SOUND, an area Big Dance Band. He
also leads M. J. FROG AND THE TADS, a 5-piece group that
plays and sings, along with local seniors, over 200 of the
Good Old Songs. He recently took up clarinet and plays in
the HAMPTON ROADS METRO BAND.
Connie Kevorkian:
was born and raised in Norfolk; graduated from Maury High
School, The College of William & Mary, and Eastern Virginia
Medical School. She played clarinet through school, then
put it down for about 20 years before coming back to it in
1998. Besides playing clarinet with SoJam, she currently
plays clarinet for the Hampton Roads Metro Band and the
Contemporary Music Group at Sacred Heart Church, with
unpredictable appearances at Blessed Sacrament Catholic
Church as well. When not playing music, she is a
pediatrician with Tidewater Children's Associates.
Jennifer Rossettini went to Rutgers University in New
Brunswick, NJ and Widener University School of Law in
Wilmington, DE. By day, she is a mild mannered attorney,
but by night, she plays flute with SoJam. She and the
drummer met in college marching band, have been married for
seven years and have a beautiful daughter.

Vtipal Christie is a native Virginian where she
graduated from First Colonial High School, Old Dominion and
Cambridge College with her
Masters in Special Education. She loves teaching her third,
fourth and fifth graders at Pendleton Child Service Center
during the day and enjoys playing flute in a variety of
different groups in the evening. Currently she resides in
Norfolk with her husband, Chris. |
